Word on Curd: New Cheeses for February!

Oldwick Shepherd, from Valley Shepherd Creamery, in Long Valley, NJ: A signature farmstead raw sheep milk cheese, cave-aged for 3-5 months. Buttery and smooth, with sweet and nutty overtones. Inspired by the French Brebis de Pyrenees. Pairs with chocolate, cherries, pears, Bordeaux, tempranillo, and our favorite “Hungry Bird Eats” Nordic Crisps. Featured in the upcoming Local Cheese and Succession Brewery Beer Tasting Event!

Beecher’s Flagship Cheddar, available in 6 oz wedges and .75 oz single-serve sticks. Award winning 15 month-aged pasteurized milk cheddar from Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, located in the iconic Pike’s Place Market in Seattle, WA. Nutty, creamy, sweet and sharp, rich with umami. Try it in Beecher’s “World’s Best” Mac & Cheese recipe!

Beecher’s Marco Polo, from Beecher’s Handmade Cheese, a buttery pasteurized cow milk cheese, made with flecks of green and black freshly milled peppercorn. Ideal for snacking, grilled cheese, or mac and cheese. Try it in Beecher’s cheesy cabbage and cauliflower bake!

Van Gogh Organic Gouda, from Roth Organic Cheese in Wisconsin. A mild, buttery, young pasteurized cow milk gouda, ideal for snacking, sandwiches, and melting.
Fresh flavored goat milk chevres, from LaClare Family Creamery, in Malone, Wisconsin. Creamy, spreadable fresh goat cheese, available in honey (delicious in this lentil salad recipe), chipotle honey (try it in this crispy air fryer goat cheese ball recipe), and garlic and herb (try out this garlic herb goat cheese frittata recipe).

In addition to the new cheeses, we are delighted to introduce a new flavor of fruit preserves, made by local PA Eat This Yum: Orange Saffron Cardamom Marmalade. Pairs beautifully with hard aged cheese such as Manchego, Goat Rodeo’s Hootenanny, or Valley Shepherd Creamery’s Oldwick Shepherd. Also delicious with a silky sheep/goat feta, spread on toast!
