About the Event
On February 27th and 28th, Harvest Market had the pleasure of supporting the Wild and Scenic Film Festival hosted by Trail Creek Outfitters. During the two day festival, a selection of short films inspired by the environment were aired at the Chester County Historical Society for the 250 people in attendance each night. Before attendees viewed the films, our staff served up two of our delicious soups paired with our renowned gluten-free Pao de Queijo Foccacia, a Brazilian cheese flatbread.
Proceeds of the Event
The proceeds of the event equally benefitted the Stroud Water Research Center and The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester County , two organizations with missions that Harvest Market proudly stands behind and supports.
The Stroud Water Research Center, based in Avondale, PA, is driven by the philosophy that understanding the science of fresh water is essential to the protection of this vital resource. Through global research, education, and watershed restoration, they seek to advance the knowledge and stewardship of freshwater systems.
The Land Conservancy for Southern Chester works to ensure the perpetual preservation and stewardship of open space, natural resources, historic sites, and working agricultural lands throughout Southern Chester County. Their work focuses on establishing conservation corridors, protecting historic sites, providing walk-able communities through trail linkages, and offering ecological education and outreach programs for professionals, students, and underserved members of the community. Overall, their mission is to provide meaningful, hands-on interaction with the land, that not only feeds our bodies, but also nourishes our health, our creativity, and our spirits.
We had a fantastic time supporting this event and these two incredible organizations that are helping to protect our land!
